In 2019 pastoral districts (known in Spanish as "UAP") were created in the Diocese of Pamplona-Tudela, concentrating the 700 parishes of Navarre into 36 pastoral districts. Their purpose is to work pastorally as if they formed a single parish. There should be a team of priests for the whole district and a single pastoral council created. Worshippers from all the towns should feel they belong to the same circumscription. Legally and financially, however, each parish retains its autonomy.
Ecclesiastically our pastoral district is in the Diocese of Pamplona, specifically in the Mid-Mountains pastoral zone and the Aralar deanery. In terms of civil territorial organization, we are in ten municipalities of Navarre: LEITZA, ARESO, GOIZUETA, ARANO, ARAITZ, BETELU, LARRAUN, LEKUNBERRI, BASABURUA AND IMOTZ.
At the moment three priests work in solidum in the mentioned pastoral district: Jesús Mari Sotil, Santiago Garisoain and David Galarza, and on weekends three other priests come to help celebrate Mass: Joxe Mari Alemán, Pako Beloki and Peio Etxabarri.
